'BRIGHTONA CHARITY RIDERS' IS A REGISTERED CHARITY NOT A MOTORCYCLE CLUB

ACHIEVED SO FAR

Brightona has gone from strength to strength over the years with the help of lots of local bikers. It has been great to see so many people helping out of the goodness of their hearts to raise money for the Sussex Heart Charity.

Since 2004 Brightona's Motorbike Festivals have had thousands of visitors flocking to the shores of Brighton. A great day out for all the family!
The £5 donation entrance goes towards vital medical equipment to improve the lives of
hundreds of people.

BRIGHTONA'S RECENT DONATION

The latest addition to the medical equipment purchased by Brightona with funds raised from their events are four high tech hospital beds. It allows people to have an angiogram through the arm rather than the leg as they can sit on the chair rather than lay on the bed.

The list of “state of the Art” machines purchased is quite extensive and not available through the NHS. Previous items also included:
• An Electric Couch for use of the less-abled people when they have a cardiac test.
• Refurbishment of the Cardiac Day Unit.
• A Harmonic Scalpel (to simultaneously cut and coagulate tissues during surgery procedures).
• An Optical Coherence Tomography Machine (optical ultrasound, which delivers live sub-surface images at near microscopic resolution, Instant direct tissue imaging and requires no preparation of the sample or subject and no ionizing).
• A Vimidex Ultrasound Simulator which will be used as a training aid enabling staff to perform the majority of the early echo training off-patient.

BRIGHTONA'S TENTH ANNIVERSARY

brightona 2013

Sunday 13th October 2013 saw Brightona launch it's main event on Madeira Drive in Brighton for the tenth year running. Even with all the rain spirits were not dampened, everyone enjoyed themselves and had fun. The array of bands including Micky Hart & The Heartbreakers, Nark Drool & The Shudders and Snakebyte got crowds dancing. Bikers suited up and drove their pride and joy into the arena. Stall holders wowed with a massive selection of accessories and must have items. Faces smiled as competitions where won. But most of all money was raised for charity.

"Thoroughly good day, enjoyed by all fab as always, roll on next year!!!" Margaret Loftus
"Massive well done to everyone who either worked on the day or turned up to enjoy the event.
The rain was not going to stop us having fun and raising money. Fantastic team work as always."
Rachael Coles
"Its always a good day out for a brilliant cause with some excellent peeps!!" Vikki Jayne Vandweller
"Was an awesome day shame about the weather but not to worry was still a fabulous day." Chris Smith

Brightona Yearly Events

Brightona Charity Riders hold many events throughout the year. The biggest of these is the Brightona Bike Show held on Madeira Drive every October. You can always expect, a fun packed time with some amazing motorcycles, hot rods, live music, stalls and not forgetting the wall of death!! When it comes to the bikes there are many categories including Best Bike in Show, Best Custom Bike, to name a few, plus Best Hot Rod.

Music is a vital part of Brightona and many bands perform at each event, so bring your dancing shoes!! Finally why not treat yourself or a loved one to something from one of the many stalls offering leather wear, bike memorabilia, plus much more to fill your shopping bags.

If you would like to contribute but can't make it to an event or want to get involved as a volunteer, marshall, stall holder or to enter competitions, help raise money or simply keep up to date with upcoming events, contact Abby Goldin on 01273 708151 or email brightona10@gmail.com
